Planning for the Future

While the “Planning for the Future” Workshop series for Older parent carers has been running for five years in the Barwon South West Region of Barwon Health’s Carer Respite and Carelink Services, three exciting innovations have developed. One is the Carer’s Respite Plan which develops along with discussions about the son or daughter’s Care Plan and about family supports and services in place. The next innovation is the continuing Social Groups that have formed out of the workshop series. Thirdly, the evolution of the Older Parent Carer – Musical Mornings Project which has evolved over the past year when groups of older parent carers were asked about this style of respite and the benefits.
